Party on St. Patty’s with the Rocketz
The Rocketz - joined by members of Moonlight Cruisers - will be performing live on St. Patrick’s Day at Spike’s in the suburb of Rosemead. In case I haven’t mentioned it lately, the Rocketz a are a cool punk-a-billy band that gave a killer performance at last years Knott’s Scary Farm, blasting out songs like [...]

The Dead don’t live this Halloween…
…at least not on Holywood Boulevard. This event, of course, took place last year; we reviewed it [...]

Phantom of the Opera will go behind the Orange Curtain
We try to focus on events in and around Hollywood (this is Hollywood Gothique, after all), but Orange County is close enough for most Los Angeles residents to make the drive if there’s something they really, really want to see. For those who have yet to see a live production of THE PHANTOM OF THE [...]
Rhinoceros review
The LA Weekly gave a fairly positive review (you have to scroll downa a bit to find it) to the City Garage’s production of RHINOCEROS, Eugene Ionesco’s 1958 satire about a town’s population metamorphing into the titular animals:
In manner and acting approach, Troy Dunn’s lead character, Berenger, is out on his own, a soft-spoken method [...]
Maestro of the Movies
John Williams will be conducting selections of his scores for the HARRY POTER and STAR WARS this weekend.
There are two shows, on Friday, July 13, and Saturday, July 14. Both start at 8:30pm.
Personally, I’ve always felt the Williams is somewhat over-rated as a composer of films scores. Sure, he does great work, but sometimes I [...]
