As part of its series “The Cabinet of Jan Svankmajer,” the Cinefamily screens Svankmajer’s baffling but fascinating 1994 feature-length film version of the famous legend of the man who sold his soul. Svankmajer, combines live-action, stop-motion, and other techniques, while borrowing bits and pieces from previous texts on the subject: Goethe, Marlowe, etc. The result is unconventional to say the least.
