Cinespia presents their last outdoor screening of the season at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. In director William Friedkin’s film version of William Peter Blatty’s novel (scripted by the author), Linda Blair stars as an innocent young girl possessed by a demon. The Oscar-winning film set new standards in on screen horror when released in 1973; although time has softened the shocks, the conviction of the film still shines through, thanks to Friedkin’s determination to present the events as realistically as possible, without the usual horrorshow melodramatics.
Cinespia presents this screening under the stars of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 horror masterpiece, THE BIRDS, starring Tippi Hedren and Rod Taylor.
