INFORMATION: In operation for since 1996, this impressive amateur yard haunt is located in a wide front yard of a quiet, dark residential area with lots of shrubbery and trees that block the light and lend an extra touch of authentic atmosphere. The lighting scheme is definitely low-key, and you will have a hard time taking photographs even with your night vision digital cameras, but the effect is wonderfully creepy in an old-fashioned Gothic way. The decor consists of a stone gate, tombstones, ghosts floating from trees, fog, and shrouded figures. The tableau are mostly static, but there is a nice moving candle that seems to hover in the air above a stone sarcophagus. Even more impressive is the large upright crypt with a floating spirit inside. Overall, this has an sinister feel, with the layout of the corner house’s front yard nicely utilized to create the sense that you are approaching a dark and dreadful place (even though the proprietors turn out to be quite nice).

FUN FACTS:The proprietors insist they would like to come up with a name for their haunt, so if you have any good ideas, feel free to e-mail them.
