NOTE: The official website states that, after 20 years of haunting, 2006 was Grimmstone’s final year. We can only hope that some day it opens its gates again for Halloween.
FEATURES:This is one of the must-see amateur haunts in Los Angeles. Basically, it’s a circular driveway loaded with elaborate mechanical effects (moving tombstones, creaking coffins, a talking skeleton, a floating ghost, etc). It’s not too scary for little kids (no gore, no one jumping out to scare you), but the elaborate decorations are extremely atmospheric and impressive.
REVIEW: We reviewed Grimmstone Cemetery as part of our Halloween Haunt Odyssey 2004.
VIDEO INTERVIEW: Watch “A Visit to Grimmstone Cemetery,” featuring an interview with proprietor Noah Korda.
