MANIAC COP 2 screening with director in person

maniac cop 2Location: The Silent Movie Theater, 611 N. Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90036

Description: The Cinefamily presents a screening of MANIAC COP 2, with director William Lusting in person to answer questions. The first MANIAC COP was no great shakes, but MANIAC COP is is actually a pretty decent horror film, scripted by Larry Cohen (IT’S ALIVE), which weird echoes the 1939 black-and-white classic SON OF FRANKENSTEIN: the monster – or in this case the cop, who is now undead rather than merely maniacal – hooks up with a homeless friend and shows support for his new buddy by removing “obstacles.” The cool cast includes Rober Davi, Claudia Christian, Michael Lerner, Bruce Campbell, Laurene Landon, Clarence Williams III, and Robert Z’Dar as the title character. The film is good enough that you can almost forgive Lustig for the sleazy MANIAC – almost.
