Sam Worthington stars as Jake, a paraplegic soldier who operates an “avatar” to explore the biosphere of the planet Pandora, a potential site for mining and corporate exploitation. Before long, Jake falls in love with one of the planet’s inhabitants and realizes that preserving Pandora’s natural resources is a cause worth fighting for. With Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver.
