Los Angeles Premiere of Downstream

Famous Monsters and the American Cinematheque presents the Los Angeles premiere of this low-budget science fiction film from 2009. From the Cinematheque website: “Wes Keller (Jonathon Trent) lives in a near-future dystopia where the world’s oil supply has dried up, food is scarce and the female population has severely decreased due to cancer epidemics. What remains is a barbaric landscape in which a human life is considered currency. In the face of these atrocities, Wes attempts to retreat to a mythical world (possibly real, possibly imaginary) run on a substance known as ‘Plutopia.’”

Director Simone Bartesaghi and co-director Phillip Kim will be on hand to discuss the film, along with actors Jonathon Trent and Jono Roberts.
