Italian Mythical Muscleman Double Bill at Egyptian

As part of their Italian Grindhouse Treasures series, the American Cinematheque presents a double bill of HERCULES IN THE HAUNTED WORLD & DUEL OF THE TITANS. The first is cult filmmaker Mario Bava’s colorful take on Greek mythology, with Reg Park as Hercules descending into Hades. The second is a film version of the story of Romulus and Remus, starring two of the biggest names in sword-and-sandal epics from this period of the late 1950s and early 1060s, Steve Reeves and Gordon Scott.

Check out the trailer for HERCULES – it gives a good idea of the colorful effects Bava was able to achieve on a low budget.

Location: Egyptian Theatre – 6712 Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood
Date: Saturday, July 11 at 7:30pm
