Pat Boone journeys to the center of the Earth

James Mason, Pat Boone, Arlene Dahl, and Peter Ronson

Pat Boone will appear in person to answer questions after a screening of the 1959 version of JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH. Boone co-starred with James Mason in this fairly elaborate film adaptation of Jules Verne’s novel, filled with great underground photography of beautiful caverns, enhanced with some spectacular special effects (although the use of lizards and/or baby alligators, with added fins to represent dinosaurs, is a disappointment). The screening is part of the American Cinematheque’s Bigger Than Life 70mm Film Fest.
