Dracula & House of Dracula at the Egyptian

This double bill of classic Universal horror films screens as part of a tribute to the re-launching of Famous Monsters of Filmland, the world’s first monster movie magainze, which has been in limbo for many years. DRACULA, although dated in technique, remains a classic well worth seeing again, thanks to the performance of Bela Lugosi in the title role. HOUSE OF DRACULA shows signs of flagging creativity, but monster kids enjoy if for the chance to see Dracula, the Wolf Man, and the Frankenstein Monster all in one film.

DRACULA will be introduced by Carla Laemmle (daughter of studio head Carl), who has a brief role at the beginning of the film, and by Bela Lugosi Jr. HOUSE OF DRACULA will be introduced by actress Jane Adams, who plays the hunchbacked nurse in the film.
