Bigger Than Life Sci-Fi & Fantasy Films in 70mm at American Cinematheque

This month, the American Cinematheque presents Bigger Than Life: 70MM Returns, another festival of classic films projected in the glorious widescreen format – the high-definition of the analog film world. Although not specifically oriented to science fiction, fantasy, and horror films, several genre titles are included, such as THE ROAD WARRIOR, LIFEFORCE, and 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY. There will also be some in-person appearances: Pat Boone with JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH and James Cameron with a double bill of ALIENS and THE ABYSS.

The festival runs from May 7 through May 13 at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood and from May 21 through May 29 at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica. Non-genre titles include THE WILD BUNCH and LAWRENCE OF ARABIA.
